2010 brought the bittersweet departure from the only place I've ever called home. It brought new friendships and solidified old ones.

2011 will be a continuation of adventure. It will bring an end to my first year at Dartmouth, 10 weeks in China, and a 3000 mile road trip.

Well - that's the plan at least.

So here's the deal. Each day, I will post a photo, a song, and an anecdote. Feast your eyes on and fill your ears with these 365 snippets of my life.

So follow the Din.
Follow the music.

Follow the noise.

Before we headed back to Beijing, we stopped at the Shanghai spire thing (forgot what it was called…) My fear of heights made me a little 紧张, jinzhang, nervous. But at least I got to see Shanghai from above.

This was my first time in Shanghai and it is SO much different than Beijing. First of all, I was behind a car that was trying to back up and it stopped to wait for me to pass. That was a shocker. Two, I saw some white people. Three, the architecture is so much different. Four, I saw a blue sky.

Too bad Typhoon Muifa was scheduled to hit Shanghai in 36 hours so we booked it out of Shanghai and headed back to Beijing a little early.

The disparity in China unbelievable. You have Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Bentleys, etc. honking at panhandlers.
